Laufenmühle is one of nine intermediate stations on the branch line Schorndorf to Welzheim in Württemberg, the line was completed in two stages, Schorndorf to Rudersberg opened on 28/11/1908, with Rudersberg to Welzheim being completed some three years later on the 25/11/1911.

The station building exists in service today and can be viewed on “Google earth”, a model of the station being produced in HO by Vollmer Art Nº 3518.

These are the facts and apart from the railway infrastructure, the rest as they say is down to pure imagination.
